Human Resource Lessons from Cinema

Join us in December for a lighter presentation of some serious issues and the chance to meet and greet our state and national SHRM representatives.

Trina McSorley will lead the discussion of current human resource issues through the entertaining use of film clips.  Covered will be topics like age discrimination, sexual harassment, diversity and inclusion, and terminations.

Presenter: Trina W. McSorley, SPHR, SHRM-SCP

Trina McSorley is the Executive Vice President/Director of Human Resources for Sturdy Savings Bank. She is responsible for the analysis and administration of compensation and employee benefits, performance management, coordination of the hiring process, recruitment and retention strategies, training and development, and personnel policies and procedures.  She has over 25 years’ experience in Human Resources in industries as varied as construction, hospitality, legal and banking.

Trina holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Messiah College and a Master of Business Administration degree from Monmouth University.

We will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots at the December meeting. 
The mission of the US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. 
The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.
