    NJ Paid Family Leave and Proposed Changes to FLSA

    The seminar will discuss developments of the New Jersey Paid Family Leave act during the last year. The seminar will include a review of the published regulations and discuss recommendations and challenges concerning implementation of the act.

    The presentation will also address the proposed changes to the FLSA overtime rule. The most significant proposed change includes raising the current minimum salary level for exempt employees. We will also discuss how employers can plan ahead to reduce the potential impact.

    Adam represents clients in state and federal court in a range of commercial and employment litigation matters, including breaches of contract, business torts, disputes arising out of restrictive covenants, employment discrimination matters and various real estate disputes. Adam also has experience in handling a broad range of real estate matters including zoning and land use approvals. Adam also assists clients in obtaining tax credits from various agencies in New Jersey.

    Among the matters Adam has handled, he has:

    • Assisted one of North America’s leading vinyl and aluminum fencing manufacturers obtain a $29.8 million Grow New Jersey Tax Credit award for the redevelopment of a 415,000 square foot manufacturing facility.

    • Assisted a molecular diagnostics company obtain a $7.45 million Grow New Jersey Tax Credit award for the relocation of a federally compliant laboratory facility.

    As a member of the firm's Cannabis Law Practice group, Adam advises businesses entering the legalized marijuana market on regulatory, employment and litigation matters.
