Disaster Preparedness
Are you ready?
Disaster preparedness refers to measures taken to prepare for and reduce the effects of disasters. That is, to predict and, where possible, prevent disasters, mitigate their impact on vulnerable populations, and respond to and effectively cope with their consequences
The presentation will cover an overview of disaster preparedness.
The presenter will review the different types of hazards and preparing a plan. We will discuss the role of Emergency Management and the three phases of emergency preparedness. There will be a question and answer period at the end.
Speaker – Scott K. Evans
Chief Scott K. Evans directly supervises the Fire Division for the City of Atlantic City. He is the Director of Emergency Management and has served the department for over 28 years. He was promoted to Fire Chief in 2016.
Chief Evans has been an instructor for over 22 years and is a Task Force Leader with Urban Search and Rescue.
