Oh No! The Check Engine LIght is On!

Risks of not conducting and Audit of Human Resources

Unfortunately, our organizations don’t have the luxury of a having a check engine light go off notifying them of a potential issue.

We often find that something has gone wrong after the situation may be out of our hands. At this point we have external forces (Government Agencies and Regulators) asking us the questions we should have been asking ourselves. This is where internal audits of the Human Resource area become the check engine light in every organization – early notification or awareness of a potential issue.

An internal audit could be reinforcement that the organization has all the proper policies and procedures in place and an annual "under the hood" checkup has not uncovered any issues.

It becomes a coordination of efforts between management and internal audit. An integral part of the organizations internal controls, due diligence, and risk management and is a fundamental activity of strategic management.

Our goal in this session will be to identify the key points of the Human Resource audit process.

We will be collecting new, unwrapped toys at the December meeting for Toys for Tots.

The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.
