    2016 Employment Law Developments and

    2017 Predictions

    Presented by Fox Rothschild, LLP

    Register Here

2016 was a landmark year for labor and employment issues.  The federal government has been more involved than ever in the workplace, with many federal agencies having bigger budgets and more investigators now than during any other point in history.  2016 was also marked by aggressive enforcement and investigation tactics, and significant changes were made in the areas of workplace accommodations, overtime regulations, and non-union workplaces.  However, a new Republican administration will be at the helm come January 20, 2017.  With its campaign promises of repealing Executive Orders and reducing regulations, what impact can we reasonably expect to see (if any) in the American workplace in the immediate future, or over the next four years?

This presentation will provide an overview of recent developments in federal labor and employment laws and regulations and summarize the workplace landscape as it currently exists.  We will also review recent federal court decisions that have stalled some of the Obama administration’s most significant workplace-related actions.  Finally, we will attempt to “read the tea leaves” with regard to the new administration and address the areas and issues that we believe will be most impacted by a Trump presidency and Republican-majority Congress.
